This Spring 2018 Semester we partnered with "Kreepy Kreatures" which will showcase exotic animals from the reptile family. Students will be able to touch, feel and explore the animals!
Our "Techsploration" program is one that keep families coming back for more. It features technology classes for 1st-12th graders in Coding, Game Design,  Robotics, Web Development, Keyboarding and more!

Where Technology Empowers Potential

Look around any restaurant or mall, pretty much anywhere, and it's easy to see adults are alwlays connected to their mobile devices. Think about the ways technology has changed in the world in the last five years. Now imagine how new technologies will transform the way your children live in 10, 15 or 20 years. Studies show that used wisely the latest technology can help create opportunities for more active and meaningful learning experiences.​
Your children won't be kids forever. When they decide on careers they will have to compete in an arena with other young adults who are tech savvy. Understanding how to use emerging technologies provides a key advantage in college and the workplace; this reality won't be changing anytime soon. The more comfortable your kids are with technology today, the better equipped they'll be to function in the world of tomorrow.

The world is changing and technology is driving much of that change. To be prepared, children need to have a working understanding of current technologies and have a high level of confidence in their abilities to master newer and more complex tools.

Beginning Coding & Game Design
Ages 6-7... Part 1 & Part 2
In this course students learn the basics of programming using visual coding environments such as Scratch and code studio and text-based programming (javascript) with Khan Academy. They will also use Mindcraft, Mbot and more to learn some of the different applications of programming.  

Learning Outcome: Students will be able to build simple games and use visual coding to control robots, understand computational thinking and the basic structure of object oriented programming. The syllabus contains instruction in basic programming syntax, drawing with code, using functions, using different types of variables, transforming object positions, frames/animation, audio, visual effects, etc…
Must complete Part 1 before advancing to Part 2.

In this course students learn the basics of programming using visual coding environments  such as  Scratch and Snapp, and text-based programming languages with khan academy (Javascript) and Roblox (Luna). Students will learn how visual programming can be translated into different programming languages such as Javascript and control things like robots and other objects.

Learning Outcome: Students will be able to use visual and text-based programming to build games and control robots, understand programming syntax and the basic structure of object oriented programming. The syllabus contains instruction in programming syntax in different coding languages, drawing complex patterns with code, creating functions, variable scopes, advanced operators, organizing your code, relative and absolute motion, transforming object positions, animation, audio, visual effects etc…

Dynamic Web Development
Ages 11-18
In this course, students will learn the difference between web design and web development. They will use HTML and CSS to create web pages and integrate PHP and MYSQL to make a dynamic interface that can store and retrieve information in a database and host it on-line. 

Learning Outcome: students will learn how create stylish and organized web pages with HTML and CSS, how to easily manage large websites using stylesheets and smart designs And create dynamic interfaces by using PHP and MYSQL to send and receive data from a database.

Beginning Keyboarding
Ages 14-18
​​Times have changed. Schools  can no longer prepare students for the workplace of the future without providing them with skills necessary for using computers competently. One of those necessary skills is, of course, keyboarding. 


High School   Students need to know how to use the keyboard when they enter college, to write  essays, reports, and papers, whether they’re submitted through the teacher’s home page or printed out to hand in for their grade. Over the course of one school year alone, students can save hours of typing time by learning to touch type. Without these essential keyboarding skills, many students risk falling behind in their classwork, something that will impact their performance throughout their school years and even affect their employability as adults.

The instructor of the course is  a college professor who teaches keyboarding at a local college. The class will be utilizing a college based program that incorporates two parts. The essentials of keyboarding and skill building exercises. The curriculum will consist of 20 lessons that will cover word processing applications, all letters of the alphabet in addition to 10-key.

Robotics 
Ages 6-18
In this class students experiment and discover engineering basics via trial and error field testing. Rather than just snapping bricks together, students learn critical thinking skills and modify their robot design based on varying conditions.  The course exposes students to more complex engineering techniques such as pulleys, incline planes, and gear use. 

Students will learn how to create, build, program and control their individual robots using code. Students will need to purchase a individual robot kit.
